Aberbargoed Primary School – A Case Study

Aberbargoed Primary School - Everybody Matters

David Lewis, Headteacher

Overview:

In May 2015 twelve staff from Aberbargoed Primary School in Caerphilly completed the ndonlinetraining.co.uk ‘Safeguarding’ course. The drive by the school was to ensure that all staff had up-to-the-minute understanding of an important issue affecting every school and college across the UK. This case study examines their experience of working with our team…

David Lewis, Headteacher for the school wanted a cost-effective, quality training session that his team could complete without having to take all staff out of the classroom. Mr Lewis comments:

“I chose the online training option as I could complete it at a time best suited to me. It was cost effective too. I didn’t need to travel and of course I had no supply or cover costs. The benefits are that the training is comprehensive, cost effective and time efficient. New employees can complete it without needing to be booked on to a course, or having to wait for staff training in school. Current employees can update their training so that they are always fully aware of current practices, protocols and statutory requirements.
As it is web based it is easy for staff to revisit the training and dip in and out of it if they need to. Employers can rest assured that their staff are having a thorough and purposeful training experience in Safeguarding in the education context.”

Staff who attended this course described it as:

Informative, accessible, easy-to-use, gave a good understanding of safeguarding, raised awareness, essential, efficient and effective
